Wisdom From Elderly Cats

Sep 13, 2025

Age comes with wisdom, and with wisdom we can offer this gift to others. It doesn’t matter the species. Take this neighbor’s cat, for example. He’s very old, with dirt on his paws, often sleeping outside and wandering over to say hello. You can see his age in the way he moves: perhaps he forgets to clean himself, or maybe he carries a touch of arthritis. He must be handled gently. Yet his energy remains immaculate and deeply compassionate. With ancient wisdom beeming from his eyes, as if his soul is timeless.

Today he came and, of his own will, climbed onto my lap. Immediately, I felt his presence flow into me: a pure, expansive, cleansing energy. I accepted this gift from my friend, knowing that cats are natural ethereal beings, instinctive energy workers. When a cat chooses to offer assistance, it is always true at the soul level.

There is much we can learn from felines. They are natural transmuters, beings without an off switch. This is why, when a cat lives in a home filled with heavy, toxic, or stressful energy, it can overwhelm them. Such situations reveal the importance of allowing cats access to the outdoors, where they can release accumulated energy from their physical bodies. Of course, every situation is unique, and some indoor cats do just fine. Still, I believe it is healthier to let cats spend time outside.

Cats are telepathic and profoundly intuitive. They embody the feminine: flowing, untamed, impossible to control. They walk in two worlds at once: this one and the spirit world. They are guardians and guides. So, if you have a cat in your life, or if cats often approach you, know it is never by accident. They are offering their presence and their service. Accept it with gratitude.
